I have been slack at writing again. Life has been so busy, I have barely had time to even make notes, but if I can remember the details, I will have some great content coming your way! At some point. Life is anything but dull right now. In fact, I am going to put a month of dullness on my Christmas wishlist!🤞
Back to the blog timeline and…we were struggling to get through our daily tasks whilst still being social butterflies! Mia and I, that is, as Ian and I were spending as little time as possible together following “water jug-gate”. The logic behind that was, if you’re not spending time together, you can’t argue! Genius, right? Possibly not the foundations for a healthy relationship, but we were just surviving.
Monday:
Mia hates Mondays almost as much as me. I had to wake her for school again (which I always feel guilty about as she obviously needs the sleep!) and she ate her cereal with her eyes closed and asked if it was the weekend yet?! I decided not to break the news that she had 5 days still to get through! I think she misses Kindy, as do I! 5 days a fortnight was a far preferable work-life balance routine!
I had a busy day with various students at different schools and we were both shattered by the end of the day. So it was really nice to arrive home to a parcel from a friend, who knows Mia’s personality to a T, clearly! (Plus a photobomb from our dog, Cass!)
Tuesday:
Work, tutoring, Pilates. Standard Tuesday!
Wednesday:
Went to Chicks at the Flicks to see the latest 50 shades of Grey movie. It wasn’t oscar-worthy but I do love a girls cinema trip and a free goody bag and I don’t mind a bit of Jamie Dornan either, so what’s to complain about! My friend thinks he’s too skinny, but I would say perfectly toned. But hey, variety is the spice of life and if we all liked the same thing, there would be a hell of a lot of bitch fights, wouldn’t there?!
Thursday:
Work, tutoring, no Pilates! Standard Thursday!
I did take a picture of this sign though, because it does make me question every single time I drive past: “What is the purpose of the “o”?! For non-Australians, this is a van which sells fish. I know Aussies abbreviate everything, but in this case they are actually making it longer…so…why?! I honestly want to know. Answers on a postcard please!
Friday:
Crawling to the weekend! Friday is my day off and I actually had no appointments booked in so caught up on some exciting tasks like laundry and washing up! I swear that the school day lasts twice as long when you are teaching than what it does for a parent trying to get errands done in a set amount of time! I felt like I blinked and it was school pick up time again! Not quite sure where 5 of those 6 hours went?!
Saturday:
Got Dani and baby Claire to come to parkrun as part of our exercise challenge. I think the hardest part about exercise is actually showing up to the workout, when it would be so much easier to stay in bed! It still doesn’t make the running easy though!😒
Then we went to Konga class, possibly via a bit of a cheat breakfast at McDonald’s, but hey, girls have got to refuel, right?!😬 And surely following parkrun we were still burning calories?! Whatever the calorie intake, we were still upping the exercise considerably. However, I may have spent the majority of the remainder of the day horizontally recovering!🙈
Sunday:
Dani and the kids picked us up and we went to Rocks Riverside Park in Brisbane to catch up with Renee and her kids. It was unbelievably stinking hot but we had a great day and Mia seemed to enjoy getting smashed in the face with water! Probably refreshing in the heat!😀
There was one panic-stricken moment when the kids were all posing for a photo and Mia loosened her grip on baby Claire, inadvertently dunking her in the water, but we were quick to react and rescue! No harm done! Phew!😰
“A Sunday well spent brings a week of content”, or so they say! But no matter what my Sunday entails, I always seem to get the Sunday night blues! Do you? And how do you combat them? I would love some tips!❤️
Have a great week!
Emma x
